The constant struggle…
We all love to find new beauty product gems, and we especially like to find affordable beauty products! But, there are soo many options out there and sometimes when I am standing in a store isle I feel overwhelmed with all the different options. Not only that but there is often a wide variety of brands and prices, and it can be hard to know if you are actually getting your money’s worth. I’m sure you may have felt the same way before! So, today I am sharing with you my beauty favorites and the best part is they’re all affordable, because this girls on a budget!

My beauty favorites–hair care.

Drybar Prep Rally Prime & Prep Detangler
Why I Recommend:
I love this hair care product soo much, and let me tell you why! This is a detangling spray that mists super nicely onto your damp hair. I apply it after every shower whether or not I plan to apply heat on my hair or not. It smells amazing, and leaves my hair feel really soft. It also gives my hair more shine than any heat protectant product I’ve used before.
My hair type is thin and wavy, so it tangles and breaks easily. It’s fragile and when I use products it often becomes weighed down. (Let me know if you can relate to that hair struggle, and what products you recommend in the comments!) But, with this product my hair doesn’t look greasy or crunchy!
How I Use It:
You may be asking, what’s it’s purpose? How do I put the product to use? Well here’s what I do! After gently towel drying my hair in the shower I mist it evenly throughout my damp hair and then comb through with a wide tooth comb. If I am just airdrying my hair I leave it at that! Easy-peasy!!
If I am blow drying my hair I follow the same process above, but I also wait until my hair’s about 60% dry and then I section my hair. After that I use my blow dryer and dry my hair on warm. (NEVER THE HOTTEST SETTING.)
The Cost:
So what’s the damage? (As my father would say.) This is by far the most expensive product I am sharing with you today, but it is soo worth it. It costs $40, a little pricey compared to what I usually spend, but it lasts forever. I’m serious! I have had mine for months now and still have over half the bottle left, and I use it every time I wash my hair.

Why I Recommend:
I have struggled with hair loss, shedding, and breakage for several years now. For a while it was a serious issue and had a really negative effect on my self confidence. So naturally, I researched and researched ways to promote hair growth. That’s when I stumbled across Biotin and discovered it was great for hair, skin, and nails. I decided to give it a try and I’ve never looked back! I truly notice a huge difference in my nail strength and hair growth when I am taking biotin supplements.
I would like to mention that what works for me may not work for everyone else and I am not a medical professional in any way, shape or form. It’s always good to get a doctors opinion before taking a new supplement. I know some people struggled with acne when taking Biotin supplements, but I personally have only seen my skin improve with Biotin. Everybody is different!
How I Use It:
I take a capsule every morning after I eat breakfast. I actually kind of incorporate it in my skin care routine because I take it right before washing my face and getting ready for the day. It is always important to follow the directions on the bottle and listen to your body if you think something is bothering you.
The Cost:
The cost of this product is $8.99 and the bottle comes with 130 capsules. It is super affordable!
I have also used Biotin (5,000mcg) with Coconut Oil | Supports Healthy Hair, Skin & Nails in Biotin deficient Individuals | Non-GMO Verified & Vegan Certified (120 Veggie-Softgels)” target=”_blank”>Biotin with Coconut Oil and highly recommend that one as well! It was actually the first kind I purchased but when I went back to buy more they were sold out. They are now available again!!

Why I Recommend:
Please excuse the gross hairs you can see in the brush, it’s just proof I really use it right?? My next beauty favorite is this wooden paddle brush with boar bristles and soft plastic bristles as well. For the longest time I only used a wide tooth comb to brush my hair and it was not working out. I finally decided to purchase this brush and it is a miracle worker! My hair is less greasy, less tangled, and much shinier when I brush it with this brush. If you have never looked into the benefits of boar bristle brushes I recommend this post which talks about 8 major benefits!
How I Use It:
I use this brush just like I would any other brush. Often I’ll brush out my hair once in the morning and once at night before bed to get all the knots and tangles smoothed out. I also find that this brush is really helpful in styling my hair when I am blow drying it or doing a slicked back up do.
The Cost:
So, how much are you going to have to fork over for this brush? Good news, only $8.97! Trust me its a great deal for an amazing affordable product. It also comes with 3 combs and a travel bag. You can’t beat that!
My beauty favorites–skin care.

Palmer’s Skin Therapy Face Oil
Why I Recommend:
Out of all my beauty favorites this is one of the absolute best. This product feels so nice on your skin, it doesn’t weigh it down or clog pores. It just melts into the skin so effortlessly I’m telling you it is absolutely magical. It helped with my dry skin, cleared up acne, smoothed my face, and evened my skin tone.
How I Use It:
I really like the dropper element to this product. After I was my face I place a drop on my forehead and both cheeks and then rub it into my face. I am careful to pay attention to the direction I rub with the oil as well. Think of it like sculpting your face. I don’t pull my skin down or in directions that are unnatural and cause wrinkles. Just a note, I have normal to dry (closer to dry) skin. If you have oily skin you may not want to use oil products.
The Cost:
A lot of skin serums are really expensive which is why I love the price of this one! It’s only $8.99 which is a steal! And although it is only a 1oz. bottle, a little goes a long way so it will still last you a couple months if not longer.

Why I Recommend:
You may be saying Bailey, what the heck are those?? That’s fair. Let me explain! For some reason I hate washing my face using just my fingertips. I don’t know why, maybe it’s just a weird quirk of mine but I really hate it. Instead I like to use these silicone scrubbers that have super soft silicone bristles. I feel like my face is 100x more clean when I use these and it smooths and firms my skin as well. Plus, the fact that they are silicone makes it super easy to make sure they are clean and sanitary.
How I Use:
I first wet my face and then wet the silicone scrubber. I’ll place a dime size amount of my face wash on the bristles and then I gently massage across my face. If I have any pimples or blemishes I make sure to be extra careful and gentle so I don’t irritate sensitive skin. When I am finished I make sure to rinse the scrubber thoroughly and let it dry.
The Cost:
These cool little beauty tools are only $4.99, so they are super affordable and easily stored without taking up hardly any space.

Ponds Dry Skin Cream Face Moisturizer
Why I Recommend:
Besides the Palmers Face Oil that I mentioned earlier, this is the other face moisturizing product I love. A lot of cream moisturizers feel to heavy for me. This moisturizer feels amazing on my face, is lightweight, and smells heavenly.
How I Use:
I use this moisturizer like you would any face cream. I will apply it after washing my face and you don’t have to use very much. Even though if feels very light on the face, a little goes a long way.
The Cost:
This lovely face moisturizer is only $6.99 for a bottle that is 6.5 ounces!
My Beauty Favorites–Body

Why I Recommend:
Shaving is always a chore as it is, but when I shaved my armpits with cheap dollar store razors they would hurt so so bad. My friends mom suggested I try Billie razors and so I gave them a shot and have never regretted it. First of all, they are really affordable compared to other razors you would find in stores. The razor head swivels so it’s easier to shave and you get a better shave. Plus the shaving cream is so soft and smooth that my skin feels little to no irritation after shaving!
How I Use:
How you use this product is pretty self explanatory but I will take a small amount of the shaving cream and apply it to the area I am shaving. Then I take my razor and shave. Simple as that.
The Cost:
Billie is a subscription so when you first buy your razor you will be shipped the razor handle and then two blades. That is only $9. If you want to add the shaving cream (which I highly recommend) it will be an additional $8. Then Billie will ask you how often you shave to determine the frequency in which it sends you refill blades. Refill blades are sent in packs of four and I receive them every three months for only $9!

Why I Recommend:
Tree Hut’s sugar scrubs are so amazing. I love following up my shaving routine with this scrub because it is exfoliating and moisturizing while smelling incredible. I really like how well it exfoliates (feels amazing btw) but isn’t harsh like some scrubs.
How I Use:
Usually I use my sugar scrub after shaving. I will take some on my fingertips and massage into the skin, rinse, and then shave once more. I’m telling you if you do this you will have the softest skin you’ve ever had.
The Cost:
Okay this one to me is the best deal. It’s $5.99 for an 18 ounce container! I’m not gonna complain about that!

Why I Recommend:
There are two major reasons I love this product. First, it has a very soft and subtle scent which is great because sometimes lotions or body creams can be overpowering and chemic-ally. Secondly, it absorbs into the skin really well and quickly. It isn’t oily or so slimy that you rub and rub and it never actually goes into the skin. Its very light and soft.
How I Use:
I put this on after every shower, or when my skin is just feeling a bit dry. I also make sure to always apply this after shaving as a final touch and to give moisture to my skin.
The Cost:
This body souffle costs $14.12 and it comes in a large bottle so you’re getting lots of great product.
Last but not least, my beauty favorites–hygiene.

Cali White Activated Charcoal Toothpaste
Why I Recommend:
Cali White’s toothpaste uses activated charcoal and coconut oil to naturally whiten teeth, which I love. I was a little skeptical at first but I have seen great results. I also had my suspicions about the taste, but I am here to tell you that it tastes just like any other mint toothpaste just less overpowering. I don’t mind it at all!
How I Use:
Well, for the sake of aesthetic I’m keeping this section in so that it matches the rest of the article, lol. But seriously, I use it like I would any other toothpaste. That’s all there is to it!
The Cost:
This lovely natural toothpaste is only $8.99 a bottle, I’ll take 10! No but seriously, the company even sent me a free one when I commented on their Facebook. That’s the way to treat loyal customers!
