Hey there lovely! Have you ever looked back at your week and felt that you got nothing accomplished? That you worked hard but have nothing to show for it? Sometimes we can work like crazy and still feel like our work is pointless or unproductive. It can seem like we are running in circles for nothing and it is frustrating. Or maybe you have felt like you just had a bad week. I know that I have certainly felt that way sometimes. If you’ve ever struggled with this, than this post is for you! Today I am going to delve into some ways to make the most of your week!
The Secret To Making the Most of Your Week Lies In Sunday
My first tips on how to make the most of your week all revolve around Sunday. I like to think of Sunday as a recharge and prep day. It gets me mentally and physically prepared for the coming week and helps me to have the best week possible. So what all do I do on Sunday to prepare for the week ahead?
Spa Day- Take Care of Myself Physically
It is no secret that how we feel physically has a direct correlation with how we feel mentally, and it effects our productivity and motivation too. I really truly find this to be very accurate. I like to have a mini spa day on Sundays.
I’ll draw a bath and do all the extra little things like shave, exfoliate, shape my eyebrows, facemasks, deep condition my hair, etc. It feels great and I feel more confident throughout the week!
Take Care of My Space
The next thing I suggest doing to make the most of your week is taking care of your space. While I do try to keep my living space tidy throughout the week sometimes things get a little messy.
On Sundays I like to tidy my living space and also do a bit of a deeper clean. I don’t do anything crazy, just sweep/vacuum, dust, and anything else that might have fallen behind during the weeks activities. Starting the week off with a clean and organized space makes a world of a difference.
Catch Up On Laundry
I don’t know about you, but after a full week I have some laundry to do (sadly) and Sunday’s are the prefect day. I try to wash and put away all my clothes for the start of the week. Not sure why, but this makes me feel like I have a fresh clean slate!
Plan Out Your Week
One of the most important things I do that helps to make the most of your week is plan the week out.
I love to take some time on Sunday and Monday morning to write down some things I want to get accomplished throughout the week. I have the general weekly list but I then break it down into daily plans and to do lists. This helps my stay on track (because your girl gets distracted) and be more productive!
Meal prepping is something I can’t actually claim to be a pro at. It is something I would really like to try to start doing because I think it would save me money and time. Honestly I can think of a lot of benefits to meal prepping, and once I begin to put it fully into action I will make a post about my experience.
However for now I will just say that I think it is a fantastic idea to have meals planned out. This saves time throughout the week figuring out what to cook and it saves time and money when you go grocery shopping for the week. Plus you can even plan your lunch meals for work or whatever keeps you busy during the week.
Set Aside Blocks of Time for Yourself Each Day
Another way to make the most of your week is by thinking about yourself and practicing self care. Personally I have to enjoy a bit of alone time each day. It doesn’t have to be super long or crazy, but it is very important to me. That is why I think it is so good to set aside a block of time for yourself every day to do something you love.
It could be watching your favorite show, soaking in a bubble bath, or getting some time to work on a project or hobby you really enjoy! It doesn’t matter how you use the time. What matters is that you do use the time.
Plan An Outing or Two to Make the Most of Your Week
Life can’t be all about work, work, work. It is important to take some time to socialize and have fun. Plan an outing or two throughout the week to break up the work and relax your mind. Just enjoy some time with friends and family.
Have A Few Main Goals In Mind
I talked about planning out your week and days earlier, but the reality is sometimes we don’t get to everything we would like to. So even if you don’t cross of every item on your to do list that’s okay. What’s important is that you accomplish your main goals.
Have a few main things that are the most important to complete during the week and make them top priority. We can spread ourselves to thin sometimes and this helps us to remain focused and moving forwards.
Have an Inspiring Quote to Motivate You Throughout the Week
As cheesy as this may be, our thinking has a large impact on us. We can choose whether it is a good or bad impact. Having an inspiring quote in mind makes it easier to steer or thinking to a more positive outlook when we are getting discouraged, stressed, or overwhelmed during the week.
